Abstract

10.2 Summary in English for general dissemination purposes The CITAD's activities plan for 2018-22 will be developed within the scope of its thematic structure, 4 Research Groups (RG), its Research Lines (LI) and its Strategy, Architecture for Development, which include the following themes: Urban Regeneration, Sustainable Construction, Housing and Heritage, and Design. The CITAD is composed of four RG. Each RG contains Research Lines (RL) according to a certain themes of which Research Projects (RP) The Activity Plan concern essentially RG 1: Architecture and Urbanism - PhD Maria João Soares RL 1 - Transdisciplinary in the thinking and practice of architecture - PhD Maria João Soares RP 1- Architecture and Transdisciplinary - PhD João Soares RP 2- A transdisciplinary dictionary for architecture: implications in conceptualization, discussion and representation of concepts - PhD Clara Gonçalves RP 3- Metabaroque: the aesthetics of architecture and the materiality of the future - PhD Maria João Soares RL 2 -The city and the landscape in contemporary - PhD Maria de Fatima Silva RP 4– Dwelling: The House - PhD Fernando Hipólito RP 5- LLab XXI - Requalification of the Humanized Landscape: a Question of Scale - PhD Fátima Silva RG 2: Technologies of Architecture - PhD Reaes Pinto RL1 -Sustainable Construction - PhD Reaes Pinto RP 8- Evolutive Pre-Fabricated Modular Housing – PhD Reaes Pinto RP 9- Construction with plug-in blocks with low carbon materials - PhD Reaes Pinto RP 10- Temporary shelters for post-disaster situations. RP selected with funding from the Abdias Nascimento Development Program, promoted by SECADI and CAPES. Coordinators: PhDs Regina de Oliveira Heidrich (main coordinator), Paulo Maldonado (CITAD) and Célia de Sousa, from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria 10.3 Summary in English for evaluation The CITAD is composed of four Research Groups (RG). Each Research Group (RG) contains Research Lines (RL) according to a themes of which Research Projects (RP) RG1: Architecture and Urbanism Responsible for RG: PhD Maria João Soares RL1: Transdisciplinary in the thinking and practice of architecture Responsible for RL1: PhD Maria João Soares Brief description of RL1: This line of research aims to respond to the demands of contemporary society, marked by the emergence of globalized collaboration, establishing itself as a hybrid platform of discussion where architecture acts as a core element of a vast transdisciplinary web. RPs: RP1- Architecture and Transdisciplinary - PhD João Soares RP2- A transdisciplinary dictionary for architecture: implications in conceptualization, discussion and representation of concepts - PhD Clara Gonçalves RP3- Metabaroque: the aesthetics of architecture and the materiality of the future - PhD Maria João Soares RL2: The city and the landscape in contemporary times Responsible for RL2: PhD Maria de Fátima Silva Brief description of RL2: This line of research aims to identify values in the image - as identity - of the various typologies associated with the city, the territory and the landscape as a means of development and sustainability of the same in today's society. RPs: RP4– Dwelling: The House - PhD Fernando Hipólito RP5- LLab XXI - Requalification of the Humanized Landscape, a Question of Scale - PhD Fátima Silva RG 2: Technologies of Architecture Responsible for RG2: PhD Reaes Pinto RL1: Sustainable Construction Responsible for RL1: PhD Reaes Pinto Brief description of RL1: Knowledge of the materials and technologies of its application, energy efficiency and waste reduction, within the principles of Sustainable Construction, is essential to minimize negative environmental impacts resulting from the building industry. This RL contains research projects related to the construction and operation of buildings RPs: RP8- Evolutive Pre-Fabricated Modular Housing – PhD Reaes Pinto RP9- Construction with plug-in blocks with low carbon materials - PhD Reaes Pinto RP10- Temporary shelters for post-disaster situations: from reversible constructive solutions to pre-disaster planning strategies– PhD Artur Feio RL2: Heritage Responsible for RL2: PhD Reaes Pinto Brief description of RL2: With the reduction of the construction of new fires, the rehabilitation of the built environment constitutes a very significant potential market. This RL2 covers the rehabilitation of the built heritage in order to transmit it without problems to the coming generations and within the principles of Sustainable Development. RPs: RP6- CO-evolve - PhD Reaes Pinto RP7- The Tagus Estuary and its Coastal Areas; strategy for its sustainability and development - PhD Fátima Silva. RP11- Architecture Shape Vs Mood Feelings Sensorial - PhD Moreira Pinto RP13– Find the Historic Center of Santarém. RL3: The Color in Architecture Responsible for RL3: PhD Cristina Gomes Brief description of RL3: The Laboratory of Color aims to provide scientific responses to color projects in various areas related to the rehabilitation of the built heritage, disseminating knowledge of the research carried out and promoting its application in the field of science, architecture and design. RP: RP12- Ajuda Color Project - PhD Cristina Gomes RL4: The Light in Architecture Responsible for RL4: PhD Samuel Roda Fernandes Brief description of RL4: The Laboratory of Light is a platform of open cooperation between institutional leaders, researchers, technicians, artists and the academic community, aiming at an objective qualification of the various fields in focus, considering the urban and non-urban landscape, where art and sustainability are the main topic. RP: RP14- Identification and registration of permanent urban public lighting in Santa Maria and São Miguel – Sintra RG 3: Theory, History and Contemporary Interdisciplinary Thinking Responsible for RG3: PhD Horácio Bonifácio RL1: Observatory and study. Responsible for RL1 Horácio Bonifácio Brief description of RL 1: This Line will study architectural objects from the 20th century, in the search to include each object as a particular case in the architectural culture of its time. However, starting from this methodological process in which the monographic study is privileged, investigations may be carried out on objects of any period. RPs: RP 15 - Observatory and Heritage – PhD Horácio Bonifácio RP 15.1 - The Rural Romanesque in the Douro basin: the contemporary reality - Davide Malheiro RL 2 – Philanthropic Architecture Responsible for RL 2: PhD Andreia Galvão Brief description of RL 2: The philanthropic architecture line will address the important patrimony produced in Portugal, from the appearance of the Misericórdias, unique institutions in the World, since the sixteenth century to the contemporaneousness RP: RP 15.2 The Misericórdias-Assistance Architecture RG 4: Innovation, Design and (Non) Material Culture Responsible for RG4: PhD Paulo Maldonado RL1: User Experience Design (UXD) Responsible for RL1: PhD Paulo Maldonado Brief description of RL1: The User Experience Design (UXD) research line welcomes projects whose research focus is on innovation and the quality of user-centered experience and interaction design in product / service / communication systems / environments. RPs: RP16- "www.inspaedia.com" (international project). Coordinated by PhD Paulo Maldonado The project includes 2 researchers from PGDesign of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PhD Fábio Teixeira and Master Pablo Ermida) RP17- SENSeBOOKS: multisensory books. Project selected in competition and with funding from the Abdias Nascimento Development Program, promoted by SECADI and CAPES. Coordinating researchers: Dr. Regina de Oliveira Heidrich (main coordinator) and coordinators PhD Paulo Maldonado (CITAD) and PhD Célia de Sousa, from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Portugal).
