Abstract

In its primary role of promoting and disseminating scientific knowledge, CEJEIA adopts a culture of high-level scientific research with national and international impact, seeking to maintain a constant connection with society. In the development of its multiple activities, the Centre particularly values and promotes good scientific practices based on fundamental principles such as: scientific ethics, integrity, and responsibility; maximum quality and impact of research; open science; engagement with society; efficient and inclusive knowledge dissemination; collaboration with other similar institutions, both Portuguese and foreign. The main axes to be pursued in the period 2025/29 will be as follows: 1. Defense of the Rule of Law and citizenship: combating corruption and digital threats to personal rights; 2. Political representation, historical perspective, and its dynamics; 3. Law, politics, and transnational security; 4. Bio-law and bioethics; 5. Risk society and its legal, economic, and environmental effects; 6. New ideology of Labor Law; 7. Criminal Law and new forms of criminality; 8. Transdisciplinary implications of the Portuguese Diaspora.
