Abstract

i2ADS strategic plan comprises the following 4 pillars: P1. MISSION-ORIENTED ARTISTIC RESEARCH CHALLENGE: Explore the potential of Artistic Research and Arts Education in making the relationship between art, design and society more permeable to address global challenges. OBJECTIVES: 1. Increase the number of competitive projects with national funding. 2. Promote new seed projects to address societal challenges and SDGs. 3. Enable deeper linkages with other forms of conventional research (e.g., STEM, SSH) to respond to the triple transition. P2. INTERNATIONALISATION CHALLENGE: Strengthen i2ADS visibility in international arenas as a relevant partner. OBJECTIVES: 1. Increase the number of competitive projects with international funding. 2. Reinforce i2ADS cooperation in European networks. 3. Reinforce i2ADS cooperation in Global South networks. P3. SCIENTIFIC EMPLOYMENT CHALLENGE: Strengthen and stabilise research careers in line with the EU Charter of Researchers. OBJECTIVES: 1. Counter precarity and support job stability with multiple career path perspectives. 2. Improving researchers' working conditions. 3. Promote principles of networking, open access and transferability to provide equal opportunities for researchers. P4. ADVANCED TRAINING CHALLENGE: Empower PhD students and early career researchers with advanced and 21st-century skills in artistic research and arts education. OBJECTIVES: 1. Attract talented young researchers through a PhD studentship program. 2. Provide PhD candidates with innovative training outside their programs and feedback opportunities from cutting-edge researchers. 3. Build a strong culture of doctoral supervision in AR environment. Two horizontal actions will pursue the following goals across strategic pillars. H1. DISSEMINATION& OUTREACH CHALLENGE: Enhance the overall impact of i2ADS activities and widen the channels to address different partners. OBJECTIVES: 1. Address the challenge of Open Science policy. 3. Foster the organisation of symposia by the RPs and SIGs. 4. Improve the internal dissemination among researchers. 5. Extend AR findings to new audiences. 6. Promote the exhibition format as an R&D "knowledge-in-the-making" output. H2. GOVERNANCE & MANAGEMENT CHALLENGE: Expand i2ADS in expertise, disciplinary diversity, infrastructures, and qualified human resources. OBJECTIVES: 1. Maximise the overall impact of RPs and SIGs activities. 2. Improve the participation in international/national calls for funding. 3. Promote gender balance and age representation across vertical and horizontal axes of decision-making. Two programs frame i2ADS-FBAUP commitment to equality, inclusion and recognition of diversity: 1. The Plan for Gender Equality integrates gender perspective across all activities (https://wereset.eu/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/GEP_U.Porto_signed.pdf). 2. The Conciliação4UPorto programme fosters work-life balance.
