Abstract

CI&DEI is committed to developing high-quality interdisciplinary educational research in school and non-school environments, serving as a vital support structure for innovative socio-educational projects and interventions. It focuses on science and culture to boost human and social development. To address the current and complex challenges in education and to create conducive conditions for the development of PhD programmes, CI&DEI has identified the following priorities: - To reinforce its commitment to the quality of the teacher training, focused on strengthening the connection between Practice and Theory, interdisciplinarity and multiculturalism, promoting learner-centred approaches and the use of digital resources and Artificial Intelligence, and nurturing the development of critical thinking; -To increase the integration and territorial cohesion of education, conducting research on local approaches to learning, and territorial asymmetries in education; - To promote environmental, social and cultural sustainability, using research and intervention to foster: i) the development of inclusive citizenship; ii) heritage education, recognising heritage as a transversal resource; iii) non-violence, addressing structural and gender-based violence; iv) health and quality of life; v) the development of entrepreneurial skills for sustainability. Its activity plan is structured around 3 strategic axes, each encompassing several specific actions. Axis A - Research into holistic and inclusive education and inclusive lifelong learning in school and non-school contexts A1. To hold regular meetings between researchers, teams, and research lines A2. To establish inter/national consortia and interdisciplinary research projects in this area A3. To implement new research projects through partnership between the European Universities and CI&DEI’s units A4. To increase the quantity and quality of organised scientific meetings, indexed publications, and themed issues in indexed journals to disseminate the research outcomes Axis B - Research and educational intervention with and within the community that will have a transformative impact on its sustainability B1- to increase the number of networks with inter/national organisations in the field of training, research, and knowledge transfer B2- to apply the outcomes of research and social innovation initiatives within the community Axis C - Research, grounded in a culture of innovation, aimed at generating a transformative impact on training C1- To increase and improve lifelong learning offers (spanning different levels and durations) to address emerging needs C2- To attract, train, and involve young researchers in inter/national research C3 – To promote and stimulate Pedagogical Innovation PS: National research centres in education are dedicated to developing joint projects with other Ibero-American institutions to promote a critical understanding and address the facets of AI that can be harnessed to serve education
