Expand the research portfolio to strengthen emerging areas such as individual and market behaviour, sustainable finance, and data-driven research. 3. Foster a supportive research community that encourages innovation, creativity, and academic integrity among faculty and students, while encouraging intergenerational links. 4. Increase the dissemination of research findings through high-impact publications, conferences, and policy briefs to influence public discourse, policymaking and corporate behaviour. 5. Strengthen the research Unit's reputation and visibility through strategic partnerships, open access initiatives, and participation in prestigious international research networks. Strategy: 1. Establish research clusters focusing on key research fields to facilitate collaboration, resource sharing, and interdisciplinary dialogue. 2. Invest in cutting-edge research infrastructure and data analytics capabilities to support empirical research and quantitative analysis. 3. Attract and retain top-tier faculty members and empower young researchers through assigned responsibilities and visibility, competitive funding opportunities, mentorship programs, and professional development initiatives. 4. Promote a culture of research excellence through internal grant schemes, international exchanges, and doctoral training aimed at enhancing research skills and knowledge impact. 5. Forge strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, governmental organisations, and non-profit entities to foster applied research projects and civic engagement opportunities. Goals: 1. Increase research funding by 50% by increasing competitive grant applications, industry partnerships, and philanthropic fundraising initiatives. 2. Achieve a 100% increase in the number of publications in top-tier academic journals (ABS 4*/4 and FT50) and significant media coverage of research findings. 3. Expand the research Unit's international profile, measured by the number of joint projects, publications and participation in global research networks. 4. Enhance student involvement in research activities through mentored projects and research assistantships, while increasing methodological and transferable skills via the new transversal Doctoral School. 5. Contribute to evidence-based policymaking and business impact by disseminating research outputs to policymakers, industry stakeholders, and the broader public through targeted outreach efforts (new Knowledge@ISEG web resource).
