Abstract

To address the challenges of pain communication between deaf patients and health care (HC) professionals, we will develop a digital app, SignPain, grounded in the social communication model of pain to support pain communication among them. We will then conduct a 10-month feasibility study with 15 deaf patients and 15 HC professionals. We expect relevant scientific and social impacts due to its novelty and patient-centric approach.
